Police said the officer was pulled over to make a stop when a car “crossed double solid yellow lines and collided with the patrol car.” It had turned onto Pleasant Street from Federal Street at about 6:55 p.m. when it struck the officer’s car.

The department said Officer Nicolas Limoges was taken to the hospital for minor injuries “and for precautionary purposes”. The car driver refused treatment.

Both the vehicles were heavily damaged and had to be towed. Police said charges are possible pending further investigation into the cause of the collision.
