SPRINGFIELD — The day before Amy Fanion died of a gunshot wound to the head, she bid her longtime employer the same farewell she’d had over the years.
“See you next Monday,” Janet Porter told jurors during the ongoing murder trial of former Westfield police detective Brian Fanion, who prosecutors say killed his wife. And tried to present it as suicide.
According to Porter, an investment broker, “God willing and the Gulf doesn’t rise,” replied Amy Fanion with a grin, quoting a Johnny Cash song, as she had done many times before.
