Tom Brady retirement video wasn’t impromptu, recorded ‘some time ago’ (report)

Tom Brady’s retirement announcement was raw and unedited. however, it was reportedly not filmed at the moment.

NFL Network’s Peter Schrager reports According to “sources close to Brady,” the video posted to Brady’s account was filmed before it was posted this morning.

“That was filmed a while ago,” Schrager said on “Good Morning Football” on Wednesday. “He was at an L.A. premiere last night, premiering the movie. As you see there, the sun’s not up in L.A. So it’s a taping, so that means he knows that and at least Has been silent for 48 hours.

The pre-recording of the message meant that Brady knew what he was going to do and managed to stop the leak – which was the case with last year’s short-lived announcement.

As Schrager notes, the video shows Brady on a beach with a gray daylight sky behind him. However, Schrager’s sources say that Brady is still in LA after the premiere. With the video posted at 5:12 a.m. Pacific Time, there’s no way it was recorded this morning.

“He’s still in L.A. He may be awake in L.A. right now, pressing send,” Schrager said.

Brady officially called it quits on Wednesday after 23 seasons in the NFL, spending 20 in New England and three in Tampa Bay. Brady won a record seven Super Bowl championships during his playing career, including six with the Patriots.
