The missing Montgomery father is found dead;  2 including 16-year-old charged with capital murder

The human remains of a Montgomery man missing for several weeks have been recovered, and two people have been charged with murder in his death.

According to friends and co-workers at Koch Foods, father Eric Stewart, 54, went missing on January 8.

On Tuesday, Montgomery police responded to a report of human remains on the 3000 block of Simmons Drive, Maj. Saba Coleman said. Those remains were identified as Stewart’s.

Within hours of discovering Stewart’s body, detectives took two suspects, including a juvenile, into custody.

Zackel Groves, 16, and Wesley Speakes Jr., 26, have been charged with capital murder.

The incriminating documents against Speaks state that Stewart was shot and killed during the robbery. No additional details were immediately released.

Both are being held without bond.

Stewart, according to friends, was a great man who loved his children and wanted to be the best father he could be.
