Residential fire extinguished in Mililani

HONOLULU (KHON2) – The Honolulu Fire Department is investigating a fire that occurred at a six-unit residential building on Kalaopaua Street.

Firefighters said that when they reached the spot on Thursday night, they saw smoke and flames coming out of the front and back of the two-storey building.

While firefighters launched an aggressive interior fire attack, they cleared the building of any occupants.

The fire was extinguished in no time and did not spread to the surrounding residential areas.

HFD is working to ascertain the cause of the fire and estimate the loss.
