Heroin and cocaine seized, three arrested in Holyoke bust

Members of the Hampden County Narcotics Task Force arrested three residents of Holyoke Thursday after executing a search warrant at a home at 392 Pleasant St. in Holyoke.

The task force seized about 844 grams of heroin and over 260 grams of powdered cocaine. The heroin was divided into 34,150 separate bags for sale on the streets.

Holyoke Police and the Hampden District Attorney’s Office said in a release that Francisco Torres, 30, Sebastian Rosario, 23, and Nashali Arocho, 21, were all taken into custody at or near their Pleasant Street home following an ongoing investigation.

The arrested man, revealed as a surveillance unit, leaves Torres’ Pleasant Street address in a vehicle. He was stopped a short distance away and his car was searched.

Investigators found 100 individual bags of heroin and 10 grams of powdered cocaine in the vehicle.

At the same time Torres was taken into custody, a search unit broke into the Pleasant Street home and took Rosario and Arocho into custody.

Searchers were able to find 900 grams — about two pounds — of heroin and about half a pound of cocaine in the house, as well as $34,645 in cash.

In addition to Holyoke police officers, members of the Hampden DA’s SAFE Unit, the Western Mass Gang Unit, the US Drug Enforcement Agency, the Massachusetts State Police’s Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Unit, and special tactical operations teams helped execute the search warrant.

All three were charged with trafficking in more than 200 grams of a class A drug and trafficking in more than 200 grams of a class B drug.
