HONOLULU (KHON2) – Maui Police were dispatched to a shopping center in Wailea in response to a report of a stabbing.
According to Maui County, at approximately 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31, police arrived at a 29-year-old Kihei man with a knife wound to his chest.

County officials said the victim said he got into an argument with an unidentified male about parking. The situation then turned into a scuffle when the victim was allegedly stabbed.
The victim was transported to Maui Memorial Medical Center in stable condition for treatment.
On Wednesday, February 1, county officials reported that the suspect was charged with assault in the second degree and his bail was set at $5,000.
