HONOLULU (KHON2) – Assets School’s Waffles robotics team made great strides after becoming the fifth-ranked robotics team; They are the only team from Hawaii to be ranked in the top 10.
After their latest first place win at the State Robotics Championships, Team Waffles is heading to the World Championships.

Team Waffles and Team X-Bots [Punahou School] Both will compete in the world championship to be held in Houston, Texas from April 19-21.
Team Waffles Captain Emily ’25 said, โI’m really proud of what our teams did today. โI think it is incredible that the Assets teams and in particular Team Waffles were able to win Ticket to Worlds. It was definitely a memorable and proud moment for the whole school.
Coach Peter Hahn and Coach Miles Yamamoto lead the teams.
MEAF, the other team from Assets School, made it to the semi-finals of the State Championship.
“It’s all about the next generation,” said Team MEAF captain Aren’24. โThey are our future. Inspire them so that we can be inspired by their success.

“It’s a real celebration,” said Coach Han. โThis is the first time in the history of the school to go to the world competition. A small school like ours makes it!
