The murder of a father of five remains unsolved after more than five years

Nashville, Tenn. (WTVF) – More than five years after a father of five was found murdered in the driveway of his South Nashville home, the search for his killer comes to a standstill.

His family and Metro Police are asking anyone with information about the case to come forward.

On November 1, 2017, Leondre Ridley, 37, and a friend were sitting in a Buick Enclave in the driveway of their home on Flora Maxwell Road. Metro Police said shortly after midnight, a man approached the car, shot Ridley several times and fled. His friend was also injured but survived. Ridley’s family – including her young children – were sleeping inside the house when they were murdered.

Ridley’s family said everyone knew him as “Boo”. He was a loving father who was funny and friendly. He was murdered the day before he was set to start a new job with a trucking company and a year before they were due to marry.

“For me, it’s just a pain I’ve never felt before,” said Leandra’s mother, Lethal Ridley. “I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy.”

Ridley’s family still lives in the same home, and his mother says it is heartbreaking to look down the driveway where her only son was killed.

“It’s been tough,” said Lethal Ridley. “Missing him every day, and thinking about him every day.”

Leondry’s murder has shaken their entire family, and now their children are growing up without a father. She asks anyone with information about the shooting to call police and reminds them they can call Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Lethal Ridley said, “I want the person who did it, and who set it up. I want them to go to jail.” “I want them to max out. I want that person to look in the mirror and ask themselves, What if someone did this to one of your kids?”

Anyone with information about the murder of Leondra Ridley is asked to contact the Metro Police Department’s Cold Case Unit at 615-862-7803 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous.
