It appears Fox Sports personality Shannon Sharpe was making his opinion known at Friday night’s Lakers-Grizzlies game, and the Memphis team, along with Ja Morant’s father, T.K.
Sharpe was seated front court when a brawl broke out just before halftime. Ja Morant and Dillon Brooks were both seen yelling at Sharpe as he began to walk off the court.
The Grizzlies bench appeared to accost Sharp before the safety intervened.
T’Morant was seen coming up to Sharpe and there was a huge brawl off the sideline, and the two had to be separated by security.
The reason for the controversy was, at least from Sharpe’s point of view, incredibly silly.
Sharpe told ESPN’s Dave McMenamin that the fight first began when Sharpe told Brooks that he was “too young to guard LeBron (James).”
“They didn’t want this smoke, Dave,” Sharp told ESPN. “They’re doing all that talking and joking and I’m not about that joking. It started with Dillon Brooks. I said he was too young to defend LeBron. He said, (offensive) me. I said, (offensive) you back. He started coming to me and I said, ‘You don’t want these problems.’
“And then Ja came out of nowhere talking. He definitely didn’t want these problems. Then dad came and obviously he didn’t want any problems. But I needed anything he had. Now these fools fools Don’t let it happen.
