Nonprofit housing 133 dogs rescued from dog fighting gangs looking for donations

(WXYZ) – 133 dogs were rescued in what could be the largest dog fight in state history. The investigation was a joint effort between state and federal forces with the help of local defenses.

The unsuspecting victims suspect these fabricated dogs were forced to fight in an illegal dog fighting ring. He is now in the care of Bark Nation in Metro Detroit.

Bark Nation’s Jessica Brown said, “Many of the dogs we found were primarily housed with minimal protection from the outside elements. Many of them are thin or underweight. They were dehydrated and they Were suffering from parasites or heartworm disease.”

Brown says the price tag to nurse them back to health would be upwards of $1,400 per dog.

“On average, it costs a little over $1,400 to care for each dog in our care. And we are estimating that this operation will cost them a little over $74,000 for their therapy and rehabilitation before they can be put back on their own. can be kept from,” she said.

That’s why they are appealing to the public for help. So far they have raised over $20,000 and are hoping that more people will find it in their hearts to give.

Brown said, “Our team is so grateful that we were able to meet these dogs and bring them back to homes healthy and happy and see their lives after dog fighting or cruelty. We are for that exist.”
