On a night it honored its 2022 national championship team with the unveiling of another national trophy banner, the University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team defeated No. 6 Ball State in four sets for the second night in a row, 23-25, 25- . 23, 25-18, 25-18.
Undaunted by an enthusiastic opening night crowd of 6,148, the Cardinals were aggressive in Set 1 and jumped out to a 12–6 lead, scoring late in the first set to edge the ‘Boz.

After Hawaii won set 2, the Rainbow Warriors went on an 11–4 run to start the third set and never looked back. Dimitrios Mouchalias had 13 kills and a career-high six service aces, four of which came in the third.
For the match, Spyros Chakas had a match-high number of kills with 22 for the second night in a row.
For Ball State, Caleb Jenness had a match-high in kills for the second night in a row with 15. And for the second night in a row, Jakob Thiele had a match-high assists with 54.
Next up for Hawaii is the series against St. Francis (PA), starting Wednesday at 7 p.m.
