Grand Rapids, Mich. (WXMI) – Michigan native Jamahl Hill is a world champion.
The man known as “Sweet Dreams” won the UFC light heavyweight title last Saturday in Brazil by defeating Glover Teixeira.
Holding the belt is a major goal for Hill, who still has a lot to prove.
“Being better than everybody,” Hill said of what’s next. “Showing I’m the best of this era. I’ve already shown that I’m good enough to be at the top of this division. Now, I want to show that I’m the best of this era. Never stop growing if you have a mind for growth. I am hungry for growth and those who seek growth usually get it.”
Hill is expected to defend his title in the summer against Jiri Prochazka, who held the title and withdrew in December due to injury.
