Kahului Airport Tram will be closed next week

KAHULUI, Hawaii (KHON2) – The Department of Air Transportation wants travelers to know that the passenger tram running between the consolidated rental facility and the airport lobby at Kahului Airport will be closed for four days next week.

This closure is due to expansion joint repair work that is scheduled to begin at 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 31. Repair work is scheduled for 72 hours to allow the concrete to cure.

There will be a contractor who will provide golf carts to transport passengers requiring assistance between CONRAC and the airport lobby.

For those who want to walk, the DOT said it is only a seven to ten minute walk between the two locations.

Car rental agencies have been asked to inform customers that if they have luggage, they would like to drop it off at the lobby before returning the vehicle.

Staff will be stationed at both the terminal and the rental car facility to assist passengers.
