Authorities say Jackson County man dragged neighbor out of her home, pulled out a gun and robbed her

Jackson County authorities have charged a man with first-degree robbery, saying he forced his way into a neighbor’s home.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, the incident happened around noon on Tuesday.

Deputies were called to a home on County Road 778 in Pisgah to a report of a robbery.

According to investigators, Jimmy Peek Jr., 49, of Pisgah, went to a neighbor’s home and forced his way into the home. He then assaulted a 65-year-old man, pointed a gun at him and dragged him outside.

Authorities say Peek took several items from the victim, including her wallet and a portable radio.

Peek was taken to the Jackson County Jail and is being held on $100,000 bond. The injured were treated at the spot.
