NOLENSVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — People injured or seriously ill in accidents in Nolensville can now get medical attention faster.
An ambulance and EMS crew dedicated to emergencies in the city are now stationed 24/7 at the Nolensville Fire & Rescue on Nolensville Road.
The closest EMS unit was in Brentwood, at the Sunset Road Fire Station, according to a post from the police department. It was never a guarantee that an ambulance would be available to respond to an emergency in Nolensville.
Families said an ambulance in Nolensville gives them peace of mind.
“I think it’s great. The way our community is growing, I mean the response times have to be pretty quick and with all the sports and kids around you can get hurt and stuff like that. It’s nice to know that.” Somebody’s going to be close,” Caleb Wills said.
A ribbon cutting for the new unit will take place sometime in February.
Williamson Medical Center oversees the county’s emergency medical services. A spokeswoman said more information about expanded service to Nolensville would be released Tuesday.
