Governor Ron DeSantis has a nickname – “Ron DeSanctimonious”.
The nickname was given to the governor by former President Donald Trump during his campaign in Pennsylvania on Saturday night.
Trump was reading poll results from a screen at the event when he called DeSantis “Ron DeSanctimonoius” and noted that the GOP poll put the Florida governor at 10% to Trump’s 71%.

Also in the polls were former Vice President Mike Pence, who said Trump was “doing better than expected at 7%” and Liz Cheney at 4%, who Trump said was “no way” she could be at 4%.
“We’re winning big, big, big in the Republican Party,” Trump said. “Like no one has seen.”
On Sunday, Trump will host a rally in Miami for US Senator Marco Rubio. The “guest speaker list” for the event is a who’s who of Florida GOP leaders and candidates. But DeSantis is not among those who will appear.
Saturday night’s zinger is the latest sign of friction between the two leaders, who were strong political allies in the White House late in Trump’s tenure.
