Nearly 600 drivers drop off old items during the America Recycles Day Collection event

MONROE, La. (KNOE) – Ouachita Green held an America Recycles Day Collection event Saturday morning at the Monroe Civic Center.

About 600 vehicles drove outside at the Monroe Civic Center on Saturday, November 5, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This is a free service that the organization hosts every year for residents of Ouachita Parish.

About 150 volunteers helped collect more than 100,000 pounds of recycled items such as tires, clothing, furniture, electronics and paper to be shredded.

Ouachita Green will host a Household Hazardous Waste event on March 18, 2023 at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe.
