First Alert Day Saturday, November 4, 4:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Strong winds!

DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) – Saturday will NOT be a day to cut leaves! Strong winds behind Friday’s rain system will gust between 30 and 50 miles per hour for much of the day. The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Warning from 04:00 to 19:00 on Saturday, with the First Alert Day ending at 20:00. When you have the option, you should store them loose if you can’t bring them into the garden. Power companies are expecting occasional power outages with winds of at least 40 mph due to the possibility of downed power lines from falling tree limbs. . Fortunately, most of our trees have lost their leaves, so they may not be in danger of losing their age with more leaves, but the possibility remains of fallen tree limbs and power lines. Winds should begin to ease Saturday night, but will remain windy through Sunday.
