A Scottsdale police officer was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence and causing the crash

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (3TV/CBS 5) – A A Scottsdale police officer has been arrested for driving under the influence and causing a crash Friday night.

A Scottsdale police officer was driving a rental vehicle in the city when he crashed into another car around 10:00 p.m. Friday. The two people in the other car were taken to a nearby hospital. The off-duty officer was arrested for driving under the influence.

The Scottsdale Police Department is investigating, and department officials say it’s pending an internal investigation. The department did not share the circumstances of the crash, the identity of the officer or the names of those involved in the crash.
