A man has died after being hit by a truck in south Phoenix

PHOENIX (3TV/CBS 5) — A man is dead after being hit by a semi truck in south Phoenix Thursday night.

The police responded to a call about a traffic accident involving a pedestrian at around 21:30. There, a man was found injured on the road. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. During the investigation, police learned that the man was walking on the road when he was struck by a semi traveling westbound near Central Avenue. Officers do not know if the pedestrian is impaired and will await the medical examiner’s report. His identity has not been released.

The driver of the truck stayed on the spot and was not suspected of being impaired, according to the Police.
