Morgan Stanley appoints Badalia as Head of M&A Southeast Asia

SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Morgan Stanley (NYSE:) has appointed Rekhit Padalia, a member of the Asia Pacific M&A team, as Head of M&A for Southeast Asia with immediate effect, according to a memo seen by Reuters.

Hong Kong-based Badalia is taking over from Jonathan Pflug, who is joining US investment bank Rain Group to lead its coverage in Southeast Asia, Reuters reported last month.

Badalia, who has been with Morgan Stanley since 2010, started as an analyst in her Mumbai office before taking positions in Singapore and Hong Kong focusing on the technology, media and communications sector.

The memo said Badalia will continue to be responsible for mergers and acquisitions for the Asia Pacific region.

A Morgan Stanley spokesperson confirmed the contents of the memo. Bloomberg reported the news of Badalia’s appointment late Monday night.
