BERLIN (Reuters) – German tourism bookings for winter 2022/23 fell 33% at the end of August compared to winter 2018-2019 before the coronavirus outbreak, but sales rose significantly in winter 2021/202. The DRV Travel Association said on Wednesday.
Although most destinations are still below their winter 2018/19 sales figures, the Maldives is already achieving the pre-COVID winter half turnover level and Turkey is significantly higher, with an increase of 16%.
And the authority added in a statement that “Germans are booking their holidays – as has been the practice since the beginning of Corona – at a much shorter deadline than in previous years.”
