SAVANNAH, Georgia (WTOC) – British Prime Minister Liz Truss resigned on Thursday. Truss is the first prime minister in British history.
WTOC sat down with a Georgia Southern University history professor to find out what the US can take from its actions.
“I think it’s instructive that these free market bosses put forward what they wanted, a low tax, high growth society through the extractive chancellor who said and fired, including a £45 trillion tax cut among the earners and the markets completely rejected that, so I think that’s the interesting part for Americans. How do global markets respond with more tax cuts, but no cuts in services,” said Dr. Carol Herringer.
Truss said he would remain in office until a successor is chosen.
