Happy Thor’s Day, Wordle Warriors!
We had a pretty good stretch of fairly challenging words this month. Now we find ourselves in the middle of September, with only one week of summer left. Next Thursday, the 22nd, is the last day of the season. The Fall Equinox is at 6:03 PM PT on that day. You should celebrate!
I always celebrate the summer solstice because it usually falls very close to (if not on) my birthday. But I want to start celebrating around others too. It should be the holidays! We should celebrate with friends and family and good food and drink and music and merriment!
There’s something to be said for ushering in a new season, celebrating the occasion and preparing for what’s to come—maybe not the way our ancestors did, but still honoring the cycle.
Next Thursday I will have to come up with fall words that happen to have five letters. Can you think of any?
Okay, let’s go Wordle! let me know Twitter or Facebook.

Warning: As usual, spoilers ahead. You have been warned!

Today’s Wordle

I swear it took me four or more guesses in the last ten words or so. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of the three (let alone two). Three jobs for me! It’s great!
I started with crate because it’s a slight variation on the best initial Wordle, crane, and today it did better than the word chosen by the Wordle Bot. I wouldn’t get a yellow ‘T’ crane.
From there I needed more vowels, but the first word that came to mind was buttons for whatever strange reason. Who knows how the human brain works? Neurons willy-nilly fire like heavily armed drunks in an old saloon. It somehow miraculously knocked me down from 132 potential solutions to just 1, even though I didn’t know it at the time.
With two yellow letters and one green “B” I had no idea what the word could be and played around with a lot of different letters before I finally came up with the answer. Even then, when I entered the word, I had mine doubts.
But doubt it was a win! Huzzah!
