governors American Development Bank The Islamic Development Bank voted Monday to fire President Mauricio Clavier Carone, a person familiar with the decision said, after an investigation showed that the only US president in the bank’s 62-year history had an intimate relationship with a female subordinate.
The source told Reuters that the highest body of Latin America’s largest development bank began voting late on Thursday and reached the required quorum and majority shortly on Monday afternoon.
He added that nominations to replace Claver-Carone are expected to begin next week.
