Thailand sees 8-10 million foreign tourists arriving this year – Finance Minister

BANGKOK (Reuters) – Thailand expects 8 million to 10 million foreign tourists to arrive this year after the country reopens to visitors, the country’s finance minister said on Saturday.

From January to Friday, the Southeast Asian country received 5 million foreign visitors, Arkhum Termbitayabaisth told Radio Thailand.

He said a recovery in the vital tourism sector and an increase in exports should help the economy grow by 3% to 3.5% this year.

Arkham said exports are expected to increase 10% this year, buoyed by lackluster weakness.
