Investing.com – Indian stocks fell after the close on Friday, as losses in India and sectors dragged stocks lower.
At the close on the NSE, the index was down 1.72%, while the index was down 1.73%.
Among the top performers of the day, Divi’s Laboratories Ltd. (NS:), which rose 1.75% or 62.50 points and had a price of 3,642.60 at the close. While the stock of Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NS:) added 1.44%, or 13.10 points, to close at 921.10 and TATA Steel Ltd (NS 🙂 rose 0.68% or 0.70 points at 104.30 at the end of trading.
As for the weakest performance at the end of trading today, the stock of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (NS:) closed down at 7.97% or 17.55 points and traded at 202.55 levels at the close. Apollo Hospitals Enterprises Ltd stock (NS: down 4.01% or 184.90 points to close at 4,424.00 and Hindalco Industries (NS:) down 3.82%, or 15.75 points, to 396.35.
The best performing companies in the BSE Sensex 30 were Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (BO 🙂 which rose 1.53% to 920.80, Tata Steel Ltd (BO 🙂 which rose 0.58% to settle at 104.25 and ITC Ltd (BO 🙂 which rose. 0.33% to close at 346.25.
The worst performers were Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (BO 🙂 which fell 7.93% to 202.60 in late trading, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (BO 🙂 which lost 3.00% to settle at 1,271.30 and State Bank Of India ( BO: ) which fell 2.99% to 550.45 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered rising stocks on the Indian National Stock Exchange by 1526 to 316, while 37 stocks closed unchanged; On the Bombay Stock Exchange, it fell 2392 and rose 944, while 102 closed unchanged.
Shares in ITC Ltd (BO 🙂 rose to all-time highs; It rose 0.33%, or 1.15, to 346.25.
The Nifty 50, which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, rose 9.45% to 20.59, a new one-month high.
Gold futures for December delivery fell 1.17%, or 19.75, to $1,661.35 an ounce. Elsewhere in commodity trading, Crude Oil for November delivery fell 3.02%, or $2.52, to $80.97 a barrel, while Brent oil for November was down 2.70%, or 2.44, to trade at $88.02 a barrel.
USD/INR fell 0.10% to 80.98, while EUR/INR fell 0.70% to 79.13.
US dollar index futures rose 0.67% to 111.85.
