PARIS (Reuters) – Stellantis and Uber (NYSE: Carmaker) announced a partnership with Free2Move to focus on the French electric car market.
The companies said in a joint presentation on Tuesday that Free2Move will assist Uber in Uber’s plans to convert 50% of its fleet of vehicles in France to electric models.
Producing and selling more electric and hybrid cars is also a key part of plans laid out in March by Stellantes CEO Carlos Tavares to double Stelantes’ total revenue to 300 billion euros ($288.8 billion) annually by 2030.
In August, Uber reported positive quarterly cash flow for the first time ever and forecast third-quarter operating profit above estimates as more people rely on its services for transportation and food ordering. (1 dollar = 1.0390 euros)
