SINGAPORE (Reuters) – US investment group Rain Group has chosen Jonathan Pflug, Morgan Stanley Two sources familiar with the matter said Monday that NYSE: (NYSE:) is the head of mergers and acquisitions in Southeast Asia, to lead its coverage in Southeast Asia.
Morgan Stanley Wren did not immediately respond to Reuters questions about the move.
Singapore-based Pflug, a managing director at Morgan Stanley, has been with the investment bank since 2011. Pflug is due to join Raine early next year and launch its office in Singapore as the company seeks to expand into Southeast Asia, the sources said.
In Asia, Raine currently has offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Mumbai. She specializes in media, sports and technology deals and has advised business magnates including SoftBank Group Corp CEO Masayoshi Son. Raine also has a mutual fund company and oversees $4 billion in equity and venture capital growth.
Ryan oversaw the sale of English Premier League club Chelsea in May to a group led by Todd Boehle and Clearlake Capital after Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich put the club up for sale.
