Mercedes-Benz is building a wind farm in northwest Germany, studying solar options

BERLIN (Reuters) – Mercedes-Benz plans to build a wind farm in the northwestern German state of Lower Saxony by 2025 capable of producing 100 megawatts of electricity, equivalent to more than 15% of the German carmaker’s annual demand. she said on Monday.

The automaker said Mercedes will invest a three-digit millionth in a power purchase agreement with an as-yet-unnamed partner to purchase electricity generated by the turbines.

It is also studying with local authorities whether it can place solar panels on the remaining space on the 800-hectare plot in Papenburg, a pilot pathway owned by the automaker.
