(Reuters) – International Monetary Fund chief Kristalina Georgieva said on Monday she had an “excellent” meeting with Argentine President Alberto Fernandez in New York.
Georgieva said on Twitter (NYSE:) that they discussed the importance of implementing a critical anti-inflation and stabilization program for the sustainable and inclusive growth of Argentines.
The meeting comes after the International Monetary Fund reached a staff-level agreement on arranging Argentina’s $44 billion Extended Fund facility, which is supposed to unlock nearly $4 billion in funds for the South American country.
Fernandez is in New York for the United Nations General Assembly.
