Specific, caixabank, Bankinter, Activate Energy, drive Y Sabadell Bank they manage to revalue more than 30% from the annual lows marked by the Ibex 35 on March 7 at 7,644.6 points. In other words, they multiply by ten the return of the Spanish index during this time.
In the case of Caixabank, the two interest rate hikes undertaken by the European Central Bank (ECB) in July and this month have been very good for its price and it has achieved a return of 45.38% since March 7 . So far this year, an increase of 45.31% is noted.
The Spanish bank is also the one that has appreciated the most so far this year in the Stoxx Banks Index and the sixth-highest riser in the Stoxx Europe 600 Indexwhere the 600 companies with the largest capitalization in Europe are listed.
Bankinter, for its part, is revalued by 44.05% from the lows of the Ibex 35 in 2022. In the accumulated figure for the year, an increase of 27.72% is recorded.
Acciona and Acciona Energia are in a sweet moment right now after achieving both annual maximums in August at 210.2 and 43.68 euros, respectively. The renewable Acciona Energy has been revalued so far this year by 43.53% since last March 7 and the construction company and concessionaire by 38.10%.
Another bank that is experiencing a very positive moment is Banco Sabadell, which, like its domestic competitors, benefits from the higher interest margin generated by the ECB rate hike and the rise in the Euribor, which increases the cost of variable mortgages granted.
In addition to Acciona and Acciona Energia, Solaria, Red Eléctrica, Naturgy and Merlin Properties achieved annual highs in August. This same month of September, Cellnex and Enagás, however, have reached annual lows.
