BEIJING (Reuters) – A government planner of the National Development and Reform Commission told a news conference on Monday that China would speed up the injection of funds to start construction on the project as soon as possible.
Committee spokeswoman Meng Wei added that the basis for domestic economic recovery remains weak, although major economic indicators have shown positive changes.
China’s economy rebounded in August, with faster-than-expected growth in factory production and retail sales leading to a shaky recovery after narrowly escaping contraction in the June quarter.
