Electric vehicle manufacturer BYD (SZ ๐ today signed a framework agreement with bus and coach assembler Castrosua. The agreement inaugurates a collaborative partnership to build electric buses for the Spanish market.
The 12-meter-tall BYD-Castrosua buses will be built on a BYD chassis with electric powertrain, and will integrate the Castrosua NELEC chassis to provide high-quality electric transmission solutions for Spanish customers.

Castrosua started as a family business, and has been producing bus and coach bodies for over 70 years. Currently, Castrosua has facilities of over 80,000 square meters located in Santiago de Compostela, Villagarcia de Arosa and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

The first BYD-Castrosua 12-meter bus is already under development and will soon be available for operation under CE regulations.
